Also commonly known as fish tapes, cable pulling tapes or wire pulling tools, draw tapes are designed to help route cables and wires through conduit, trunking, ducts, wall cavities and other difficult-to-access spaces.
During an electrical installation, the draw tape is first fed through the required cable route. Once it reaches the opposite end, the cable can be securely attached and carefully pulled back through, providing a practical method of installing wiring where direct access is limited.
C.K draw tapes are useful for domestic, commercial and industrial electrical installations, particularly when installing or replacing cables within conduit systems or concealed cable routes.
Different draw tapes can vary in length, material, flexibility and construction, making some better suited to longer cable runs while others may be preferable where the route contains bends or restricted access.
Choosing the Right Draw Tape

For more demanding cable runs, also consider the amount of cable being pulled and the complexity of the route. Excessive pulling force can damage cables or the draw tape, so cables should be pulled in accordance with the cable manufacturer's installation requirements.
